Requirements

  • Guidewire Cloud ACE Certification.
  • Multiyear business systems analyst experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Multiyear product management experience.
  • Knowledge on functions of the Insurance business to understand customer requirements and provide GW Solutions.
  • Knowledgeable on integrations with internal and external applications, research any dependencies and work on system design plan with platform architect and product engineering.
  • Strong experience in handling APD changes and GW policy functional workflows.
  • Strong stakeholder management and results orientation.
  • Partner with technology teams to analyze requirements to determine system potential, down and upstream system impact, and the relative impact to business.
  • Experience in the Canadian Personal Line Insurance industry domain.
  • Experience with maintaining system availability of the platform by identifying potential problems and defects and supporting root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Lead Digital Product Manager for the success of GW product.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with their counterpart and stakeholders (internal and external), owning the overall relationship and ensuring that GW platform and services align with long-term strategic objectives and bringing learnings from prior efforts to the conversations.
  • Outcome-Based Iterative Delivery, which includes sizing stories, refining product backlog and defining and measuring KPIs.
  • Design and Systems Thinking which includes the ability to define vision and strategy for your digital product. Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution prowess by managing tech debt and defining the appropriate goals for the product.
  • Plan and drive inception / discovery and framing sessions, prioritize stories for sprints, demo GW PolicyCenter to stakeholders, identify gaps and provide solutions.
  • Drives strategic direction for GW PolicyCenter by sequencing and iteratively delivering on consumer journeys and relevant demands and help defines and continuously advances the digital product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with enterprise objectives and consumer experience.
  • Build user stories, use cases, functional requirements, wireframes, system flow diagrams, and other documentation for GW configurations and Integrations requirements.
  • Review and analyze how changes to the business process and / or business needs will impact technical requirements throughout the GW applications and other downstream integrations.
  • Clarify requirements prior to delivery of user stories to the Development team.
  • Be the liaison between functional leads, engineering teams and support teams.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Support production releases and perform smoke testing.
  • Work with the Product Engineering to ensure test cases are current, accurate, and cover alternative paths for existing and new system functionality.
  • Proactively collects, analyzes and interprets user feedback, market trends, and digital product success measures to inform key decisions and roadmap.
  • Creates a seamless digital experience, resolves consumer pain-points and drives strategic intent.
  • Strives to reduce risk through targeted and rapid experimentation to prove business value through iteration with a bias for speed to market.
  • Co-owns and leads all incident responses and root cause analysis in partnership with Engineering Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Extreme Programming (XP) or agile methodologies.
  • Proven background using defect-ticketing software (such as Agility, JIRA, etc.) to document requirements, user stories, defects for development teams.
  • Experience working daily in multi-functional teams.
  • Skilled at negotiating consensus among departments that request sometimes conflicting or inconsistent software requirements.
