Requirements

  • Juris Doctor Degree
  • Minimum 12 years of legal experience in Global Trade.
  • Admitted to the bar and able to maintain the ability to practice law in the U.S.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. sanctions and antiboycott laws and regulations.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to RTX businesses on sanctions and antiboycott matters.
  • Take leadership role on RTX sanctions and antiboycott steering committee and provide oversight of the enterprise sanctions and antiboycott compliance programs.
  • Partner with RTX Global Trade leaders to develop, oversee, and drive completion of sanctions and antiboycott program enhancements and initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Lead sanctions risk assessments and drive initiatives to mitigate compliance risk.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical RTX response to sanctions developments, including through leadership role on cross-functional task forces.
  • Support sanctions- and antiboycott-related compliance investigations and voluntary disclosures.
  • Support merger, acquisition & divestiture activity on pre- and post-closing Global Trade due diligence and integration.
  • As needed for specific transactions, determine antiboycott reporting requirements, draft alternative contractual language, etc. to ensure compliance with U.S. Commerce and Treasury Department antiboycott requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth sanctions regulatory analysis for specific transactions and provide timely, actionable compliance guidance to RTX businesses.
  • Directly engage with U.S. sanctions and antiboycott regulators as needed on compliance matters, questions of regulatory interpretation, and other high-consequence issues, including through both written and oral advocacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills, strong and clear verbal and written communication skills, and a clear sense of the practical application of the law to RTX’s business.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, with limited oversight, a wide range of complex and unique Global Trade legal issues.
  • Minimum 3 years in a law firm and/or government experience.
  • Expertise in export controls and/or customs laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated history of collaborating with others and managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Prior experience providing Global Trade business support.
