Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required.
  • J.D. or lAPP Certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT and/or CIPM a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a role focused on data privacy compliance or other comparable leadership roles in a global organization; prior management experience strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience building, leading and maintaining privacy programs.
  • Proven track record of policy and process development, implementation and management.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in emerging technologies and a strong understanding of information systems and related security requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of U.S. and International privacy laws, regulations and best practices, doing so in the context of consumer data is preferred.
  • Experience within multinational public company a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute overall global data privacy strategy and serve as the key privacy resource for the Company, in collaboration with our Legal team, Director of Information Security and other stakeholders.
  • Design and continuously improve the global data privacy function, including processes for the completion of personal information inventories, privacy impact assessments, creating and maintaining records of processing activities, and updating privacy policies and procedures. Ensure ongoing monitoring, auditing, reporting and evaluation of the privacy function.
  • Develop and continuously improve vendor management procedures addressing data privacy requirements to ensure appropriate assessment of vendors for compliance with Company privacy requirements.
  • Support Legal and Procurement in drafting, reviewing and negotiating third party contracts to address privacy obligations.
  • Review and map key international flows of employee and consumer data and implement appropriate transfer mechanisms.
  • Manage members of the Global Privacy Function; establish and oversee Regional Data Privacy Liaison team.
  • Coordinate with internal and external privacy counsel and other business stakeholders to ensure existing and new products, services and processes comply with applicable privacy requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external privacy counsel to advise internal clients on a range of global privacy laws.
  • Develop global privacy training materials and other communications to increase employee understanding and awareness of privacy issues and conduct initial and on-going global privacy training.
  • Maintain knowledge of and monitor developments in global privacy requirements and best practices.
  • Manage privacy complaints, breaches and investigations by privacy regulatory authorities, in collaboration with the Legal and HR teams.
  • Oversee response to consumer and employee information access and deletion requests, in collaboration with the Information Security team.
  • Work with Legal and Government Affairs teams to develop relationships with regulators and government officials responsible for privacy and data security matters, as well as relevant consumer organizations.
  • Work with Information Security teams to review all system-related information security plans to ensure alignment between security and privacy practices.
  • Develop and manage the Global Privacy Function budget.
