Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of related business experience, with at least six years of technical project management experience within the investment management industry.
  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required.
  • Graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Manages multi-year, cross-divisional technology-related programs. Drives all phases of the program lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.
  • Creates and maintains a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Drives communication to many different audiences within Vanguard on the overall goals and outcomes of the program.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support their program initiatives. Develops strong relationships with program leadership, sponsors, and workstream leads.
  • Holds responsibility over technology program budget, monitoring cost variances, and forecasting and allocating program costs. Ensures all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements.
  • Lead organizational excellence, engineering effectiveness and cost optimization efforts.
  • Develop strategy to improve team performance and drive organizational change.
  • Ensure strong client satisfaction, stakeholder support and broad solution adoption.
  • Understand internal organizational functions and processes and scan external ecosystems to identify viable partners to compliment, innovate and add value and acceleration to strategic goals.
  • Conduct continuous improvement sessions; ensure lessons and recommendations are incorporated.
  • Develop and manage processes to identify any areas of opportunity and potential hurdles supporting the organization’s strategic plans and objectives.
  • Lead change management activities, communication, and feedback loop efforts.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and innovation that values learning, improvement and a commitment to excellence.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide business intelligence as it relates to organizational outcomes, team health and client satisfaction
  • Engage with the team to track, manage, forecast and optimize technology spend
  • Partner on strategy definition and adoption. Co-author white papers and executive presentations
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people-leadership experience strongly preferred.
