Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in finance-leadership roles, with a focus on startups and growth-stage companies
- Prior financial leadership at a startup that grew from $5M ARR to $25-50M and raised at least $10M in venture capital during your time there
- Strong financial modeling, analysis and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, GAAP principles, accounting, spreadsheets, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Excellent operational skills across a mix of areas, from managing vendor relationships to keeping tabs on accounts receivable to overseeing a rotating mix of insurance needs
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a strong focus on driving business growth and value creation
Responsibilities
- Create the vital materials for and present to our board
- Take point on future fundraising (process, due diligence, etc), own reporting to major investors, manage day-to-day investor relations
- Move us from a world without set budgets to an annual, board-approved set of budgets, goals, and forecasts
- Partner with product, design, engineering, and operations teams to push for changes to our product — or entirely new products — to improve market share, improve unit economics, and drive more growth
- Take over Parkade’s homespun data reporting system, and work cross-functionally to put more scalable systems in place
- Manage revenue, pay sales commissions, work collaboratively to creatively structure sales deals for mutual benefit between Parkade and our customers
- Manage our cash flows, and ensure we have the right amounts in the right accounts, and plan ahead for big outflows of cash
- Review tax policies and ensure we and our customers are in compliance
- Manage our outside accountant and eventually hire a controller or accountant
- Design and foster a great expensing experience for our employees that balances thrift and good incentives with a great employee experience
- Help with options plans, 409(a), lease management, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
