Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
- 10+ years’ experience in payroll tax filing and/or related field required
- Advanced understanding of payroll tax/payroll tax filing and/or related subject matter expertise
- Advanced understanding of payroll tax filing regulatory and legislative guidelines
- 7+ years’ experience in client interaction and client management
- 7+ years’ experience in people leadership / management experience
- 5+ years’ experience leading managers and/or team supervisors
- 5+ years Payroll tax software processing experience
- Medium level project management experience – ability to lead efforts with organizational skill using basic project plans and facilitation skills
- Strong leadership and management skills with ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, ability to collaborate with various audience levels
- Successful background in Operational Management
- Experience in outsourcing and/or consulting with a focus on payroll tax, tax filing or very related field
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of professionals to embrace change and drive excellence across all aspects of quality management
- Evaluate existing frameworks, systems, and processes to identify areas of improvement and optimization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and maximize resource utilization
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of quality initiatives and delivery
- Using defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, assess the effectiveness of ongoing operations and training
- Lead, guide, and direct the team in prioritizing critical issues, provide technical support, guidance, and direction to ensure the right client support is delivered in a timely and effective manner
- Lead daily activities of the team to ensure that all work is completed accurately and with quality according to scheduled deadlines, priorities, and overall goals
- Develop internal partnerships to achieve creative, efficient solutions to client opportunities
- Consult with client(s) to resolve and/or communicate complex issues
- Educate clients and provide subject matter expertise for payroll tax filing
- Educate and adhere to tax filing point of view, support development and updates to point of view
- Liaison with Client and Payroll Client teams to resolve items related to tax filing
- Serve as an acting backup to the leadership of your organization (up, down, and across)
- Provide support regarding client escalation(s) for issues. Develop an action plan and oversee resolution efforts
- Provide direct feedback to associates on opportunities to enhance services provided to the client
- Ensure and support compilation, reporting, and analyzing of metrics. Use metrics to drive improvements and close process gaps
- Analyze team statistics and prepare reports
- Participate in task forces, strategic initiatives, stretch assignments and collaboration opportunities with other business units as needed
- Mentorship and develop managers and colleagues, also managing performance and accountability
- Participate in and/or conduct interviews to ensure appropriate hiring and onboarding of colleagues with a proper fit for our team, experience, and skillset needs
- Manage Tax Filing suppliers, as appropriate, to support accurate and timely delivery
- Coordinate and/or provide needed training for new colleagues or processes
- Coordinate and actively support SOP development, training, communication to team and maintain updates
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Tax experience highly preferred
- ADP Smart Compliance experience desired
