Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in international trade controls, export compliance, sanctions and related practice.
- Knowledge: Expertise in U.S. and international trade laws, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations and export / import related regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective compliance program processes and controls to mitigate trade controls risks.
Responsibilities
- Designing and issuing policies to cover sanctions, export controls (ITAR, EAR, etc.), anti-boycott, and forced labor.
- Developing and rolling-out procedures to cover restricted parties screening, diversion prevention, detection and monitoring, sanctions and export controls, and supply chain due diligence.
- Third party risk management and onboarding.
- Contractual controls and third-party protections (e.g. compliance/end user certificates).
- Reviewing and resolving potential restricted parties’ hits.
- Addressing legal/compliance questions from the commercial team and other stakeholders.
- Engagement with government authorities (e.g. licensing / export authorizations).
- Training and communications on above matters.
- Periodic compliance risk assessments on above matters.
- Testing and auditing of above matters.
