Requirements

  • 7 or more years of progressive experience in Industrial Engineering, with expertise in Engineered Labor Standards, labor planning, and productivity management in large-scale supply chain or distribution environments.
  • Ability to connect and build relationships across leaders and organizations.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with and influence peers, key stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Strong problem solving, synthesizing, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other standard methodologies.
  • Experience partnering with technology teams to evolve labor management systems, integrate process standards, and ensure data integrity across engineering and operational systems.
  • Ability to set and communicate strategic direction of high impact, cross-functional programs while securing support and advocacy from leaders and partner teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Target’s Engineered Labor Standards (ELS) and Labor Management System (LMS) program across the FDC network—including the implementation of management systems, productivity standards, and network-wide governance for continuous improvement.
  • Manage governance process for IE initiatives, inclusive of any new projects impacting budget, resources, and priorities. Develop, manage, and validate compliance with project management standards, policies, methods, and templates.
  • Determine productivity & capacity expectations, and conduct gap analysis. Identify, prioritize, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement. Determine root cause and create/maintain standard work documentation.
  • Provide thought leadership in partnership with business owners to jointly define program objectives, processes, and success measures. Coach industrial engineers and operations leadership through execution phases to achieve program maturity and sustainability.
  • Align stakeholders across F&B, GSCL, Stores, and TTS. Drive transparency and alignment on initiative prioritization, tollgates, and success metrics.
