Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a neuroscience concentration preferred; PhD, MBA or advanced degree a plus, with education in marketing or other business disciplines highly desirable
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in new product commercialization, management consulting, business development or related disciplines in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries
- Thorough knowledge of new product commercialization and in-line brand management principals appropriate to pharmaceutical or biologic therapeutics
- Exceptional command of data analytics, forecasting and market research techniques with a proven ability to interpret market insights to help guide strategic decision-making
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills include strong written and oral communication abilities
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and ability to partner with colleagues across the business and scientific areas of the organization
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of biotechnology or pharmaceutical market, including pricing, reimbursement and market access principles across multiple geographic regions
Responsibilities
- Plans and conducts market research and analyses to maximize the value of product candidates and research programs in existing and new therapeutic areas
- Defines Target Product Profiles (TPPs) for cross-functional R&D teams developing novel therapeutic candidates to help inform asset opportunities
- Works in conjunction with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, to identify and gain insights from scientific thought leaders as needed to inform clinical and commercial development plans
- Supports Business Development activities, including commercial due diligence on licensing, acquisition and collaboration opportunities
- Participates in the development of revenue forecasts and risk-adjusted net present value (NPV) models for all portfolio compounds in collaboration with key business partners (Finance, Clinical Development, etc.)
- Partners with cross-functional colleagues to help support lifecycle management (LCM) activities and decision-making
- Provides customer insights and recommendations to help inform clinical development including formulations, dosing, desired endpoints, evidence generation plans and other elements impacting product labeling and overall commercial viability
- Works closely with HEOR and Market Access teams to build in appropriate levels of evidence generation and differentiation for optimal access both in the US and globally
- Monitors competitive therapies of relevance to Neurocrine to allow development teams to react to new information by strengthening underlying product candidate profiles
- Conducts assessments of ex-US commercial potential, develops early commercial launch plans and assists with partnership discussions in support of Business Development colleagues
- Actively participates on cross-functional product development sub-teams
