Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or program management within the defense or intelligence sectors, with a proven track record of success.
  • Deep understanding of SOCOM and the U.S. intelligence community, including their missions, structures, procurement processes, and operational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to win and execute complex contracts, including those involving classified or highly sensitive programs.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to engage senior military and intelligence leaders.
  • Experience with government contracting processes, including FAR/DFAR regulations, IDIQ contracts, OTAs, and other acquisition vehicles.
  • Direct experience working with or within SOCOM or the intelligence community, including familiarity with programs such as SOF AT&L, COCOM initiatives, and agency-specific technology needs.
  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts focused on U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and the broader intelligence community, driving growth through strategic partnerships, contract wins, and delivery of mission-critical solutions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to expand the company’s presence within SOCOM and intelligence agencies, ensuring alignment with their evolving operational and technological needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior military and intelligence officials, program managers, and key decision-makers across SOCOM and the intelligence community.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure high-value opportunities in areas such as autonomous systems, AI/ML, ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance), and other cutting-edge technologies.
  • Act as the company’s principal representative to SOCOM and intelligence agencies, attending key industry events, briefings, and operational exercises to promote the company’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and operations, to ensure the delivery of tailored solutions that meet SOCOM and intelligence mission requirements.
  • Provide market insights by analyzing operational trends, budget priorities, and competitive landscapes within SOCOM and the intelligence community.
  • Oversee the capture and proposal development process for SOCOM and intelligence contracts, ensuring compliance with government requirements and alignment with mission objectives.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to government contracting regulations, export controls, and classified program guidelines.
  • Champion the integration of emerging technologies into the company’s offerings to meet the rapidly evolving needs of special operations and intelligence customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established network of contacts within SOCOM and intelligence agencies, including both uniformed personnel and civilian leadership.
  • Expertise in advanced technologies, including unmanned systems, ISR platforms, and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Experience managing classified programs, including compliance with DoD security regulations and classified facility requirements.
  • Strong understanding of global and regional security trends impacting SOCOM and intelligence operations.
