Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience, with 5+ years in data-related roles (e.g., data platforms, AI/ML, analytics, fintech)
- Strong background in big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong technical acumen, with a deep understanding of data platforms, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and AI/ML applications
- Proven track record of building and scaling data platforms with measurable business impact
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, etc.); MBA or equivalent experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the data platform vision that aligns with Remitly’s mission and business objectives
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for data infrastructure, architecture (centralized data catalog, along with the processes of adding or modifying schemas), analytics, and machine learning-driven decisioning systems
- Prioritize, plan, and oversee the execution of the data platform roadmap, balancing long-term strategic investments with short-term tactical needs
- Collaborate with engineering to build next-generation data platform – scalable, secure, and high-availability data platforms, ensuring low-latency, high-reliability data pipelines
- Enable the development of AI/ML models, analytics tools, and data-driven insights that improve customer experiences and optimize business processes
- Partner with analytics teams to democratize access to Remitly’s data via a self-serve approach while providing clear governance and access control
- Work closely with engineering, compliance, finance, and risk teams to deliver data-driven solutions at scale
- Evangelize a data-first culture, influencing decision-making across product and business teams
- Effectively communicate the impact and value of data initiatives to executive leadership, partners, and cross-functional teams
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing platform team focused on data products and infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
- Fintech or payments industry experience is highly preferred
