Requirements
- 9+ years of product management experience preferably with combined HW/SW products, with 3+ years of managing product managers.
- Proven success leading the development and launch of consumer electronics devices, including both hardware and software components.
- Understanding of hardware unit economics, business modelling, refresh timelines, and development costs.
- Very analytically rigorous but also a consumer-experience-first thinker.
- An extremely creative thinker, always challenging and improving your work.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Very high attention to detail and organization.
- Highly effective communicator.
Responsibilities
- Strategically evolve and grow hardware products and accessories to constantly deliver a better user experience and better business outcomes for Tonal.
- Identify opportunities via market research, customer interviews, and analytics, in partnership with product marketing.
- Conceptualize, define, and drive hardware initiatives in partnership with engineering, design, and programs teams.
- Work with operations teams and suppliers to drive down cost of good sold (COGS) for hardware products.
- Lead product requirements creation including definition of use cases, user experience and feature specifications to detail how products and product features should be built.
- Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance, profitability, and operational support load.
- Grow and lead a team of product managers to execute on hardware product deliverables.
- Build consensus around product strategy and definition.
- Manage multiple concurrent hardware initiatives.
- Proactively communicate details and progress to senior management and the rest of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree
- Experience working on technology related to strength training, exercise, or health and fitness
- MBA or other advanced degree
