Requirements
- Masters with 15 – 20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 – 16 years of prior relevant experience
- Industrial/academic experience advancing the state-of-the-art in quantum systems research through the delivery of demonstrated technical solutions to challenging national security problems
- Research experience and experimental background in one or more of the following areas: quantum optics, quantum entanglement, photonics, quantum communications, quantum information science, quantum sensing, and/or quantum computing
- Experience executing R&D work for Government customers
- Experience in a physics, optics, or material science laboratory environment
- Excellent written and oral skills in communicating technical information with an ability to present complex technical information clearly and coherently
- Ability to work in a Fast-paced environment
- Proven research record, preferably with technical publications
- Qualified candidates must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance (no clearance needed to start)
Responsibilities
- Engaging R&D customers in Defense, National Security, and Intelligence Communities to develop new business opportunities in the areas of quantum information systems, quantum networking and communication, quantum computing, and related technologies
- Support the development of innovative solutions in quantum information theory, quantum networking and communications, and quantum computing
- Develop and prioritize strategic business and technical goals to support future growth in the quantum information systems arena
- Manage and allocate business and technical resources to best position the company for successful capture and execution of R&D projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science or related technical field
- An active and current DoD clearance is highly preferred
- Proven track record in proposing, winning, and executing R&D work for DoD and Intel Agencies (including DARPA and IARPA)
- Strong customer understanding and proven history of relationship building in the Defense, National Security, and Intelligence communities
- Experience building and running a physics, optics, or material science laboratory
- Knowledge of various scripting and programming languages
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals at all OSI layers, network security protocols and architectures, modern cryptography theory, algorithms, and implementations
