Requirements
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
- Five years of supervisory experience in a professional engineering related field
- Two years of experience in an administrative or managerial capacity
Responsibilities
- Selects, develops and motivates subordinate staff
- Plans, organizes and manages the work of subordinate staff
- Directs engineering activities of all or part of an agency’s responsibility
- Develops and conducts a specific work program within an agency
- Manages and/or develops budgets for an assigned unit
- Represents the department in contacts with the general public and public officials
- Oversees consulting engineer’s contracts and provides technical oversight
