Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a financial institution.
- Ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of small business and consumer lending.
- Proven aptitude for coaching direct reports to success and resolving conflict constructively and in accordance with company practices and policies.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to professionally deal with colleagues, clients and the public, both electronically and in person, in a manner commensurate with corporate values and culture.
- Proficiency with smart phone technology and the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with applications such as Teams, PowerBI, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Demonstrated superior sales and operational management skills, including motivational leadership to support a vibrant needs-based sales culture.
- Willingness to embrace change and inspire others; show initiative and adaptability, and assist with the continued evolution of bank products, services, and strategies.
- Strong knowledge of WaFd Bank systems, policies and culture.
- Solid understanding of business banking products and services, including treasury management, cashflow, payroll, insurance and merchant services.
Responsibilities
- Oversees multiple locations and actively builds market share.
- Grows the business through managing small business and consumer client acquisition and deposit and lending operations.
- Proactively engages in outbound business calling with Branch Managers and other members of the branch team.
- Develops, coaches, and mentors the Branch Managers on prospecting effectively and creating memorable calling efforts.
- Ensures phenomenal, concierge-level customer service to clients within their division.
- Develops and oversees execution of strategies to expand the small business and consumer client base.
- Understands the industries and economic conditions within the local market.
- Serves as an ambassador for the bank by participating in public events and community outreach.
- Proactively coordinates business development support from various administrative functions.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Participates, encourages, and supports skill advancement in others through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Takes responsibility for continuing to seek ways to elevate their own leadership and business development skills.
- Reflects the corporate values and ethics of WaFd Bank, including integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
