Echo Vascular Technician PRN

ARDMS, ARRT or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
One of the three of the following national registry credentials through ARDMS, ARRT or CCI as applicable to the department: Medical sonography, Vascular technology, Adult echo, Adult congenital echo, Pediatric echo.

Perform a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.
Prioritize and schedule exams, coordinating with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
Prepare for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient.
Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring patient safety and comfort and achieving quality outcomes.
Mentor caregivers and students on basic equipment use and procedural technique.
Ensure the patient’s stability and safety after the exam.
Identify patient needs and appropriately communicate and coordinate patient care with physicians, other caregivers, patients, and family.
Document exam results and other needed information accurately, and charge for exams and supplies.
Clean and maintain equipment and work area, stock supplies, and coordinate repair or supply needs.
Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge, providing education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
