Requirements
- Graduate of Cardiac Ultrasound Training Program- (Required)
- ARDMS or RCS Certification is required within 6 months of hire.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years-Relevant experience* (Required)
- Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification required within 6 months of hire – Default Issuing Body
- Certified Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer within 6 months of hire – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Responsibilities
- Performs and processes echocardiographic examinations including two-dimensional, three dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and special procedures and exercise techniques.
- Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment and patients.
- Assists with special procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography.
- Analyzes and files echocardiographic data utilizing digital computer analysis systems.
- Assists in developing and maintaining internal training programs and in technical instruction of echocardiographic techniques.
- Assists in approved research activities.
- Performs mobile Echo service as directed.
- Interprets and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
