Requirements
- Professional experience building full-stack web applications with React web frameworks, such as Next.js, Remix, Vue (2+ years minimum)
- Experience building eCommerce applications with Shopify or similar backend services in a headless environment (1+ years minimum)
- Expertise in modern frontend development practices, including crafting responsive, accessible and visually engaging user interfaces using component-based CSS frameworks and design systems
- Expertise with analytics and tag management tools (such as GTM), data layer events and an understanding of SEO principles
- Familiarity with key web architecture elements such as browser behavior, consuming web services, API-first integration, serverless functions, middleware, web-analytics and server-side JS principles
- A keen focus on building for performance, optimizing for core web vitals and understanding key drivers
Responsibilities
- Acquaint yourself with Hydrow’s system landscape, including architecture, processes, tools and incident response framework
- Get familiar with our eCommerce codebase and development workflow by shadowing ongoing feature development and taking on development of components and site functionality
- Participate in code reviews, feature grooming and collaborative technical discussions
- Take ownership of high-impact feature development and technical initiatives
- Join with the broader team in our support rotation for website related incident response and escalation
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and developers to build best-fit solutions for Hydrow.com
- Contribute to Hydrow’s ecommerce development standards and delivery process
- Contribute to the management of site technical metrics and monitoring such as availability, performance and technical SEO
- Learn our tagging, analytics and performance monitoring strategies
- Work closely with our marketing team to support data-driven decision making through experimentation
- Drive improvements in engineering metrics to reduce cycle times, improve quality and non-functional metrics
- Maintain and enhance resiliency and our observability stack
- Contribute to continuous optimization and evolution of our Next.js-based architecture
