Requirements
- Must be enrolled in post secondary education in business, human resources or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
- Works self directed with little supervision
- Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, business correspondence, instructions, procedures and guidelines
- Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from internal and external customers
- Excellent human relations skills
- Highly self motivated and flexible
- Capable of working under pressure and with short completion time on projects
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multi task
- Understanding of the human resources body of knowledge
- Able to control confidential information
- Advanced computer experience
Responsibilities
- Administrative responsibilities for benefit programs ensuring compliance to company policies and guidelines.
- Works with EHS Coordinator in Health and Safety audits; etc fire extinguisher checks, spill kits, eyewash station. Update and maintain SDS sheets/database. Join the Health and Safety Committee. Complete and update ERA’s for Ergonomics’ team and database.
- Help with proper staffing levels and set up interviews along with organizing documentation.
- Ensures internal job posting process is followed according to company policies and completed in timely manner.
- Maintains personnel files and other employment/injury documentation.
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and improvement of any related procedures, policies or documents.
- Assists with plant communication to ensure information is timely and appropriate.
- Maintains high profile with all associates to build positive relationships, ensuring associate concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Provides a resource to floor associates in various aspects of human resources and health and safety.
- Handles confidential information on a regular basis.
- Follows and supports MBCI’s and Magna’s operating principles, including: Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all associates equally, fairly and with dignity and respect without favoritism. 5S – Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy ‘Everything has a place.
