Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field with at least 5 years experience
- Must have OSHA 30 hrs. certification
- Expert level data analysis and risk assessment capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and make recommendations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group projects
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Create and oversee safety, environmental and sustainability goals and objectives
- Monitor and evaluate safety, environmental and sustainability programs and initiatives
- Identify and address potential safety, environmental and sustainability risks and hazards
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with safety, and environmental regulations
- Collect and analyze data related to injuries, environmental impact and compliance
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Communicate safety and environmental performance to upper management
- Identify cost saving opportunities and implement strategies to chemical and tank management
- Source and purchase necessary ergo and safe tools, PPE equipment and materials
- Communicate with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders
- Address any concerns or complaints related to environmental impact, i.e. spills and releases
- Participate in customer and or public meetings and hearings regarding environmental issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced EHS certifications, such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), preferred
- Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) certification highly preferred
- 3 years experience in Chemical and Environmental Management
