Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field with at least 5 years experience
  • Must have OSHA 30 hrs. certification
  • Expert level data analysis and risk assessment capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and make recommendations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Create and oversee safety, environmental and sustainability goals and objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate safety, environmental and sustainability programs and initiatives
  • Identify and address potential safety, environmental and sustainability risks and hazards
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collect and analyze data related to injuries, environmental impact and compliance
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Communicate safety and environmental performance to upper management
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and implement strategies to chemical and tank management
  • Source and purchase necessary ergo and safe tools, PPE equipment and materials
  • Communicate with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders
  • Address any concerns or complaints related to environmental impact, i.e. spills and releases
  • Participate in customer and or public meetings and hearings regarding environmental issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced EHS certifications, such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), preferred
  • Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) certification highly preferred
  • 3 years experience in Chemical and Environmental Management
