Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local OSHA regulations, fire and safety codes, engineering safety standards and environmental quality regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, occupational health, environmental health and safety or related field
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Critical thinker that excels at problem solving
Responsibilities
- Improve EHS workplace performance by promoting a positive safety culture and implementing safety and environmental management systems
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace
- Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analyses and risk assessments
- Develop policies, programs and visual support materials for employees in areas such as electrical and fire safety, ergonomics, safety inspections, material handling, emergency response, and life safety
- Develop specialized EHSS education and training materials
- Review, investigate and implement action plans for injuries, illnesses, accidents and safety concerns
- Coordinate and participate in committees and attend meetings related to employee safety, manufacturing process safety, fire safety, as well as property loss or damage
- Support sustainability initiatives
- Provide expertise in safety risk management, statistics and EHSS trends
- Coordinate and conduct worksite inspections and audits
