Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related field
- 3+ years of professional editing experience
- Professional experience working with K-12 educational content
- Understanding of K-12 students’ reading and knowledge levels
- Deep knowledge of English grammar and usage
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides
- Ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines
- Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Review content to ensure that it is factually accurate
- Revise content for grammar, usage, clarity, and cohesion
- Ensure that content is level-appropriate for the target audience
- Ensure that content is meeting its intended educational objectives
- Ensure that content has an informative, engaging, and on-brand tone
- Align content to the Chicago Manual of Style and IXL’s internal style guides
- Advise team members on style questions and maintain internal style guides
