Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in electrical engineering with power electronics, motor drives, or energy storage systems.
- Capability to design, build & test high voltage, high power designs.
- Familiarity with power electronics, inverters, or 1 kW – 250 kW motors.
- Experience working in aerospace, EVs, or eVTOLs.
- Embedded software for control of inverters and/or other power electronics.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for electrical integration activities.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize selection, design and integration of high power components, modules and distribution.
- Trade-off component and module selections against size, weight and power requirements.
- Collaborate with design team to achieve reliability goals at a system level in context of concepts of operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS/PhD in relevant discipline with a focus in power electronics
- Strong knowledge of motor control theory for surface and interior permanent magnet machines
- Background in MIL-STD-461, 464, 810, DO-160 compliance
- Understanding of DO-178B software requirements for aerospace applications
- Experienced with Wide Bandgap Semiconductors
- Familiarity with Altium Designer
- Involved in EVTOL certification activities
- Design-for-Reliability, including DFMEA
- Design/test for EMI compatibility
- Energy storage systems
