Requirements
- High school diploma with trade school certification in CAD Electrical fields or AA degree in Electrical fields relevant experience or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in MEP field
- Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role
- Able to perform calculation for his/her trade to support design; possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
- Knowledge of design of various system
- Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Providing trade specific system design: layout; calculations; and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other internal and external.
- Directing and leading the design team of a wide number of projects.
- Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects.
- Conduct business development activities.
- Conducts due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establishes design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
- Designs large projects, prepares reports and specifications, and provides a very high level of technical leadership.
- Establishes project budgets and schedules.
- Networks within SHG and outside.
- Participates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.
- Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
- Performs ‘Engineer of Record’ duties for projects.
- Performs calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration.
- Performs staff resource management and review.
- Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
- Provides consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports.
- Pursues continuing education.
- Represents Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
- Take responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline, addressing any E & O issues.
