Electrical Power Engineer

BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering specializing in power electronics, motor drives, or energy storage systems.
Proven capability to design, build & test high voltage, high power designs.
Designing and developing power electronics, especially inverters for driving 50 kW – 250 kW motors.
Strong knowledge of motor control theory for surface and interior permanent magnet machines.
Experience working in aerospace with a strong background in MIL-STD-461, 464, 810, DO-160 compliance or previous experience with eVTOLs.
Embedded software for control of inverters and/or other power electronics for aerospace.
Good understanding of DO-178B software requirements for aerospace applications.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Serve as the subject matter expert for power system integration activities with various departments.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize selection, design and integration of high power components, modules and distribution.
Create organized and intuitive block diagrams and/or schematics for power electronic systems.
Trade-off component and module selections against size, weight and power requirements.
Collaborate with design team to achieve reliability goals at a system level in context of concepts of operation.
