Requirements

  • Degree, Diploma, or documented training in an electrical field from accredited college or trade school highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years direct work experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment including PLC, VFD’s, DC Drives, and Induction heating units preferred
  • Must be proficient with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC and HMI programming software as well as Allen-Bradley and related programming software
  • Experience with PLC communication and networking over Ethernet
  • Must be able to develop/write PLC and HMI programs for new equipment as well as optimizing existing control programs to optimize machine performance
  • Experience with material handling and conveyance systems
  • Experience with overhead AC and DC cranes
  • Must be able to provide design reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce a safe, healthy work environment and work practices in accordance with OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures such as LOTO & Arc Flash.
  • Lead improvement of existing & commissioning of new equipment and design and test the automation of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Solve problems of complexity and execute improvements to manufacturing processes through process systems design, machine design and selection, and PLC automation
  • Assist in installing, upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software, on new and/or used equipment used in automated manufacturing systems. He/she will also assist in identifying and evaluating new technologies to meet automation needs
  • Assist in training plant maintenance technicians on troubleshooting PLC and related systems
  • Display a positive attitude towards your work and maintain positive working relationship with others.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
  • Assist in directing hourly maintenance employees.
