Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience for Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master’s degree AND 3 years of engineering experience for Principal Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer
- Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time
- Experience in a 3D design tool such as NX, Catia V5, or ProE
Responsibilities
- Design and develop wiring harness/cable assembly installations into air vehicles for multiple aerospace programs using SAE AS 50881 and proven commercial practices as a guide
- Working independently under general supervision and as part of a large multi-disciplined team
- Collaborate with inter-departmental vehicle sub-system departments including aircraft structure, equipment installation, hydraulics, environmental control systems, and manufacturing teams
- Facilitating design reviews with key stakeholders to ensure designs meet requirements
- Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wire harness design and routing principles such as EMI separation, military connectors and backshells, shielding and overbraid, splicing, minimum bend radius, chafe protection, electrical bonding, and grounding
