Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline
- Five or more years of relevant electronic component failure analysis in defense and aerospace industry or a related hi-rel industry (e.g., medical devices)
- Proficiency in related industry standards (e.g., MIL STD 1580)
- Skills to concisely provide advice to customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, collaborative applications (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence)
- Willing to travel [domestically/internationally] approx. 25% of time
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Eight or more years of relevant experience (for Engineer Specialist)
- Experience providing deliverables and briefing management and customers on project progress (for Engineer Specialist)
- Experience leading a team of engineers and serving as a project or program technical lead (for Engineer Specialist)
Responsibilities
- Utilize common root cause analysis methods and equipment during hands-on failure analysis of electronic components
- Perform independent verification and validation of contractor’s methods for root cause analysis and corrective action
- Perform analytical studies for part reliability risk as well as future technology planning and development
- Advise management on improvements and/or upgrades of lab equipment, analysis methods, procedures, etc.
- Participate in project management as lead or support: prepare studies and projects, manage resources and schedules, deliver analytical reports of findings, and present results and recommendation
- Collaborate with management, customer, contractor, and/or component supplier personnel during analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline
- Demonstrated ability to perform construction analysis of non-MIL PRF parts and develop appropriate methods for use in space applications
- Experience collaborating with contractors, industry working groups, and/or associations such as NASA Electronics Parts Assurance Group, Defense Logistics Agency, Joint Electron Device Engineering Council, Automotive Electronics Council, during the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of active electronic parts for space-related applications
- Project management skills in applications such as MS Project, Jira, etc.
