Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline (graduate degree preferred) with of 5+ years of experience
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience designing with MCU and JTAG
  • Familiar with PCB design and common electrical interfaces: PCIe, USB, Display Port and I2C/SPI/UART buses
  • Experience designing ADC and filtering circuits
  • Strong grasp of DC-DC topologies and design methodologies
  • Experience in analyzing, simulation, and testing of electronics
  • Understanding of analog control and discrete logic design
  • Understanding of design for fault tolerance and reliability
  • Experience with in-lab testing and measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with spacecraft electrical systems and knowledge of radiation effects
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling, safety, and usage
  • Understanding of PCB layout, PCBA manufacturing, component selection and environmental qualifications
  • Self-starter and able to perform under minimal supervision
  • Success designing, developing, testing, of electronics

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative and energetic engineering team designing DC/DC converters and avionics electronics for a commercial human spaceflight module
  • Design, analyze, and simulate electronics circuits, magnetic components and control strategies for avionics electronics
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and applications
  • Develop requirements and test plans for electronics design
  • Troubleshoot hardware (systems and subassemblies) to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions
  • Perform trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations
  • Develop documentation that supports analysis, component deratings, and design reviews
  • Interface, communicate, and drive decisions with cross discipline teams
  • Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes
  • Familiar with designing for a radiation tolerant environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
