Requirements
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or three years of experience in a related position including at least two years of experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Required skills include: working knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, project management, and team leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 10-15 student engineers, conduct safety and other training, and oversee multiple design projects that support BYU’s teaching and research mission.
- Manage inventory with thousands of components, repair and maintain equipment, oversee machine and wood shop activities, certify equipment users, and improve efficiency and processes.
- Design and teach lab exercises, assist students with circuit design projects, guide senior Capstone efforts, and provide troubleshooting expertise in both introductory and advanced laboratories.
- Develop analog and digital systems for coursework and faculty-led research, assist in brainstorming technical solutions, and help students to create educational demonstrations for broader impact.
- Research and purchase components, track inventory, and optimize storage of the department’s equipment.
- Coordinate resources for department events, assist with infrastructure projects, maintain lab functionality, and repair equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
- Supply chain management experience
