Requirements
- Good understanding of network technology (i.e., Ethernet, IP)
- Experience with working with a variety of interfaces, i.e., RS232/422, IEEE-1394b, Fiber Channel, PCM, Ethernet 10/100BT + GIGE
- Experience working with Fiber Optics
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of test engineering
- Experience developing programs with Visual Basic, LabVIEW, VISIO
- Experience creating design verification test plans
- Experience with system tests
- Experience creating production level test procedures for embedded systems and circuit cards
- Familiarity with lab test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters)
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment
- Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products
- Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices
- Performs a wide variety of routine and semi-routine tasks related to the testing of raw materials, manufactured products, or manufacturing processes
- Writes and designs test procedures
- Reviews and evaluates test failures, in-process rejections, and trends, recommending corrective action as appropriate
- Provides assistance in the areas of predictability, manufacturing processing, equipment and process improvement
