Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline
- Three (3) years of related professional-level engineering experience
- A Master’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience
- A Professional Engineer’s license may be required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver programs to support energy efficiency and distributed onsite clean energy generation
- Lead the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership
- Support programs such as community solar programs
- Act as a technical resource for diverse projects within Washington State University’s Energy Program
- Lead or contribute to grant writing/project development and reporting
- Provide technical assistance and client interface
- Conduct education efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Washington
- Mechanical engineer or power engineer preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing energy efficiency programs
- Analyzing commercial or industrial facilities for their combined heat and power system potential
- Evaluating sites for onsite energy generation (e.g. wind, solar, geothermal)
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated computer skills with energy system performance analysis software, databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications
- Knowledge of potential funding sources and experience developing proposals for funding.
