Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline
  • Three (3) years of related professional-level engineering experience
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience
  • A Professional Engineer’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver programs to support energy efficiency and distributed onsite clean energy generation
  • Lead the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership
  • Support programs such as community solar programs
  • Act as a technical resource for diverse projects within Washington State University’s Energy Program
  • Lead or contribute to grant writing/project development and reporting
  • Provide technical assistance and client interface
  • Conduct education efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Washington
  • Mechanical engineer or power engineer preferred
  • Experience in developing and implementing energy efficiency programs
  • Analyzing commercial or industrial facilities for their combined heat and power system potential
  • Evaluating sites for onsite energy generation (e.g. wind, solar, geothermal)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills with energy system performance analysis software, databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications
  • Knowledge of potential funding sources and experience developing proposals for funding.
