Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or Data Science and 1+ year of experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or Data Science, OR
- JD/PhD
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Responsibilities
- Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems, and interactions to address real-time technical challenges in the fleet.
- Software development of database and analytical tools to sustain the fleets powered by AE 1107C engines.
- Develop algorithms and techniques to detect and predict imminent system level failures such as performance and control, oil and fuel systems, and vibration.
- Integrate and mature in-service systems for functional data including data reduction models, data portal systems, and database systems.
- Perform system level analysis to understand the behavior of in-service engines to provide support for engineering investigations including safety related items.
- Provide customer interface for in-service and system health related issues, including giving technical presentations and publishing reports documenting engineering analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computational modelling and data analysis (e.g., JMP, MATLAB, SQL, Python, RDP, or Git)
- Familiarity with system engineering processes and gas turbine engine fundamentals (performance, control, vibration, fuel and oil systems, aircraft mission analysis)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, deployment pipelines, or software containers.
- Familiarity with Equipment/Prognostic Health Management (EHM/PHM) methods.
- Experience presenting technical subjects; experience with US DoD customers is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to define, plan and execute engineering tasks/projects to satisfy business and technical objectives.
- An ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.
- Good inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Experience working with extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.
