Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET or equivalent qualifications
- Proficiency in programming languages: Python, SQL, and C++
- Familiarity with power flow tools such as PSSE, EMS, and Linear State Estimator
- Experience in solving non-linear equations effectively
- Strong analytical skills to assess oscillations and utilize kernel-based density plots
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Perform power systems analysis to support Transmission Operations EMS Advanced Applications group
- Analyze state estimation and power flow data and automate processes
- Perform modeling of various power system devices, including transmission lines, power transformers, and generators
- Perform network model equivalency analysis of the electrical system using network application software
- Provide clear verbal and written explanations of studies and findings to other engineers, system operators, support staff, and various levels of management
- Participate in a 24 hour on call rotation to support TOPS Real Time Operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred
- Master’s degree or PhD in engineering from an ABET accredited program is preferred
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred
