Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
  • 4 or more years of related engineering experience or 2 years of related engineering experience with a Master’s degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred
  • For Engineer Sr: Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET with typically six (6) or more years related engineering experience OR four (4) years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
  • For Engineer Sr: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is required unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization’s EVP

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and design work related to the construction and maintenance of transmission lines under direct to moderate supervision
  • Assist in the development of specifications, guidelines, and standards for transmission line design, structure and foundation design, construction, and maintenance
  • Assist in the development of specifications, standards, and testing procedures for all transmission material
  • Assist in the evaluation and approval of transmission material and suppliers
  • Work with Supply Chain to assist in managing Transmission material blankets and supplier relationships
  • Assist in the rollout and implementation of new standards and best practices to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide engineering support to the transmission regional teams in the execution of the capital work plan
  • Assist with the solving unique engineering issues related to construction and maintenance
  • Apply basics of electrical transmission systems (e.g., grounding, shielding, insulation, EMF) in the development of standards
  • Competence with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
