Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field by hire date or equivalent engineering experience
  • 1 plus years applicable engineering experience within the food industry preferred
  • Knowledge and use of computer programs (AutoCad), spreadsheets, database, and scheduling programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working on multi-faceted medium sized projects while requiring limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and on budget while achieving company objectives
  • Knowledge Process Engineering disciplines, concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Frequent travel is involved, up to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Designs and initiates fairly complex layouts for projects
  • Develops scopes of work and writes specifications for proposals
  • Provides effective project management for medium sized projects from inception through construction and installation
  • Organizes the design, follows the specifications, coordinates procurement, and achieves the company’s objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics, and timelines
  • Involved in the selection of approved contractors and decision-making about systems and installations
  • Familiarity on OSHA regulations by working with safety coordinators and understanding Tyson’s safety regulations
  • Provides engineering design for new projects and utility systems
  • Coordinates project design work including: planning, design, implementation, final walk through etc.
  • Interacts with other engineering disciplines and maintains current project knowledge of project cost
  • Assumes responsibility for project cost management
  • Consults with accounting personnel relative to project accounting procedures and project costs
  • Interacts and coordinates project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 plus years applicable engineering experience within the food industry preferred
  • Microsoft Projects exposure preferred
