Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient on company provided hardware and software.
  • CAD software experience (CATIA preferred) is a plus.
  • CAE software experience (structural analysis, mechanism analysis, etc) is a plus.
  • Experience with dynamometer test equipment and procedures (AVL preferred) is highly preferred.
  • Effective reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Must be a team player who likes working as part of a team, a good listener who is open-minded and flexible, and an innovative thinker with strong critical decision making skills and strong technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support of vehicle and engine dynamometer testing.
  • Analysis and reporting of performance data.
  • Use of computer aided design (CAD) tools for model creation, generation of drawings, exploration of parts and assemblies, and supporting documentation for NASCAR rules.
  • Support functions for vendors including but not limited to drawing review, quality control procedure documentation, part numbering best practices, engineering change notifications, fault reporting and follow up.
  • Compose formal reports containing test descriptions and results.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders concerning vehicle systems.
  • Approximately 30% travel required including some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAD software experience (CATIA preferred) is a plus.
