Requirements
- Engineering students within the civil, electrical, mechanical, or industrial & system engineering disciplines.
- Completion of freshman year in a four (4) year Engineering Program recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency and sustainability practices
- Effective time management skills
- Must be 18 or older
Responsibilities
- Record and analyze test data and statistical data.
- Assist in updating and maintaining engineering records and files as well as preparing and documenting cost estimates.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers while assisting in the planning, designing, and execution of projects.
- Assist in preparing memoranda, engineering reports and presentations.
- Participate in field visits to operational facilities to gain knowledge and understanding of power system operations and assist in performing inspections and tests.
- Actively participate in training sessions and knowledge building projects.
- Embrace AEP’s safety culture and understand safety guidelines and standards in both the office and field environment.
