Requirements
- Engineering students within the following engineering disciplines: Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Completion of freshman year in a four (4) year Engineering Program recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency and sustainability practices
- Effective time management skills
- Must be 18 or older
Responsibilities
- Record and analyze test data and statistical data
- Assist in updating and maintaining engineering records and files as well as preparing and documenting cost estimates
- Collaborate with experienced engineers while assisting in the planning, designing, and execution of projects
- Assist in preparing memoranda, engineering reports and presentations
- Participate in field visits to operational facilities
- Gain knowledge and understanding of power system operations
- Assist in performing inspections and tests
- Actively participate in training sessions and knowledge building projects
- Embrace AEP’s safety culture and understand safety guidelines and standards
