Requirements
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as an IC and 2 years of Engineering Management experience.
- Experience with large-scale distributed web services and the processes around testing, monitoring, and SLAs.
- Experience working with partner teams (e.g. Product or ML) that utilize the platform to develop innovative features.
- Ability to attract, hire, and mentor engineers of the highest caliber; experience in growing leaders and integrating top-tier talent.
- Ability to think long term but execute short term.
Responsibilities
- Shape the direction of the GenAI/ML backend stack aka Assistant Platform that directly impacts the capabilities and performance of Databricks’ products and services (e.g., Databricks Assistant and AI/BI Genie).
- Oversee the recruitment and development of top-tier talent to build a cohesive and dynamic engineering team.
- Foster leadership within the team through coaching, and providing growth opportunities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI researchers, ML engineers, and product teams, to deliver impactful AI solutions that enhance user productivity and satisfaction.
- Help evolve the organizational structure to support long-term plans and establish frameworks.
