Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager and have successfully managed a team of 5+ Software Engineers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record leading platform teams and understanding the tradeoffs necessary to enable client teams while simultaneously improving your own domain
- First principles thinker who can work with others to come up with pragmatic solutions
- Motivated to help team members succeed and have experience growing engineers
- Passionate about coaching and leading other engineers, but also enjoys coding when opportunities arise.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead an exceptional team of engaged engineers by coaching, hiring, and fostering a culture of ownership and impact
- Drive the technical vision and roadmap for Financial Platform by collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Accounting, Legal, and Tax
- Collaborate with the team to design solutions that support existing revenue lines at scale and enable rapid growth of new products
- Use technical and domain expertise to ensure the team delivers extraordinary results at a high technical level
- Make sound, first-principle decisions around resourcing with clear rationale to partners and team members
- Work with other Engineering leaders to continuously improve the Engineering organization and uphold workplace philosophy.
