Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • At least 6+ years of experience in safety-critical product design & development, technical project leadership, or technical mentorship within an engineering product development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of engineers to achieve high-quality results through effective leadership, motivation, and regular, constructive feedback.
  • Develop and mentor engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and empowerment.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality, and on-time product delivery by leading the team to meet customer expectations.
  • Lead the discovery of customer needs and drive innovation to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the team by empowering team members to contribute and mature ideas and solutions.
  • Coordinate collaboration between engineering teams and business counterparts to ensure efficient value stream management, seamless project execution, and compliance with processes and certification requirements.
  • Own NDB Letter of Acceptance (LOA) sign-offs to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and data integrity, and resolve engineering issues promptly by addressing challenges and escalating when necessary.
  • Develop and protect intellectual property by coaching the team to contribute to GE’s competitive edge and ensuring data security through technical and organizational measures.

  • Strategic planning and change management abilities to guide the team through transitions and drive success.
  • Prior people management experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong coaching and development skills, focusing on nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous growth.
  • Customer-centric mindset and experience in customer relationship management to drive customer loyalty.
  • Track record of driving impactful continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Strong background in Software Engineering Development and Processes, applying problem-solving and system thinking to drive effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, or similar languages.
  • Experience in full lifecycle design, development, and verification.
  • Familiarity with engineering design practices, Agile Scrum, and product line engineering to optimize team performance.
  • Ability to foster strong collaboration and communication within the team and with other internal and external teams.
  • Experience developing products to defined regulatory standards within a safety-critical environment.
