Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls/Automation Engineering or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience
- Amcor or similar flexible packaging engineering project experience
- Above average performance
- 30% travel requirement
Responsibilities
- Aligns with and actively supports Amcor values by putting safety first in all situations
- Acts as a safety leader to others by ensuring that all project work is completed in accordance with our safety policies
- Evaluates and assesses current safety procedures for engineering and suggests improvements for the benefit of all employees
- Determines customer’s needs by identifying problems and safety concerns
- Develops and evaluates solutions thereby defining project scope
- Coordinates/develops prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project
- Establishes Project Team, facilitates and documents Project team meetings
- Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification
- Provides the purchasing services for project materials required
- Assists, as necessary, in the interview process of candidates for filling openings within the department
- Communicates all appropriate information in a timely manner and fashion to the necessary people within and outside the organization
- Manages project costs, project scheduling and supplying pertinent communication for multiple highly complex and wide-ranging engineering projects
- Completes Project Closeout and Postmortem Analysis for appropriate projects
- Actively participates on continuous improvement / kaizen teams and leads teams as requested
- Leads efforts to secure and maintain knowledge of current industry practices for the department as they may apply to Amcor Products and equipment
- Leads mid to large scale project installations, checkout, start-up and training as necessary
- Identifies potential areas of improvement for department and develops proposals for action plans
