Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Safety or Industrial Health or other technical field
- 3 or more years of work experience to include knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations, Title IV Air Permits, Wastewater and Stormwater Permits
- Daily use of MS Office applications especially Excel, Power BI
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce occupational hazards associated with plant operations including risk analysis and safety initiatives
- Develop, implement and influence a proactive and engaged safety culture
- Develop, conduct and coordinate EHS training and communication programs
- Lead the plant’s Safety Team and participate in functional area improvements
- Conducts EHS audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, standards and regulations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001)
- Investigates EHS incidents, develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent recurrence
- Leads the plant’s pollution prevention and waste minimization programs through periodic monitoring and technical guidance
- Track and report metrics indicative of EHS performance
- Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and exposure evaluations, as required
- Participate in regional EHS audit teams, as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster employee engagement and effect change
- Experience in Behavioral Based Safety
- Proven track record of collaboration with hourly employees through senior leadership
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
