Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience examining Florida title
  • Have working knowledge of Real Estate Law
  • Ability to review and discuss complex real property title issues with Seller’s/Buyer’s Counsel, underwriting and claims department personnel and lenders
  • Ability to draw and run simple and complex legal descriptions and run chains of title
  • Ability to search Public Records at County Clerk’s Offices and run searches on various computerized search engines
  • Ability to interpret a Survey
  • Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Examine title documents filed in the various County Public Records and issue examined title products to agents efficiently and error free
  • Research property tax information online from the county property appraiser and tax collector offices
  • Research names for Patriot Act Search, Bankruptcy, State and Federal Liens and Judgment information on the computerized General Index Systems or available database services as well as at courthouses
  • Handle customer inquiries related to examined title products or title problems
  • Review documents prior to closing/recording and determine if they are sufficient to cure title defects and are in recordable form
  • Plot Metes and Bounds Legal Descriptions and do Survey Reads
  • Research prior title work in AS400 Archive and STARSLINK
