Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience examining Florida title
- Have working knowledge of Real Estate Law
- Ability to review and discuss complex real property title issues with Seller’s/Buyer’s Counsel, underwriting and claims department personnel and lenders
- Ability to draw and run simple and complex legal descriptions and run chains of title
- Ability to search Public Records at County Clerk’s Offices and run searches on various computerized search engines
- Ability to interpret a Survey
- Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
Responsibilities
- Examine title documents filed in the various County Public Records and issue examined title products to agents efficiently and error free
- Research property tax information online from the county property appraiser and tax collector offices
- Research names for Patriot Act Search, Bankruptcy, State and Federal Liens and Judgment information on the computerized General Index Systems or available database services as well as at courthouses
- Handle customer inquiries related to examined title products or title problems
- Review documents prior to closing/recording and determine if they are sufficient to cure title defects and are in recordable form
- Plot Metes and Bounds Legal Descriptions and do Survey Reads
- Research prior title work in AS400 Archive and STARSLINK
