Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to positive youth development and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with staff and volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using oral, written and listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer.
- Must successfully pass the WSU 4-H Youth Development/Child Protection Screening Process.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and leadership for Extension work in the 4-H Program of Skagit County.
- Manage volunteers involved in the 4-H Program.
- Implement programs and activities within the policies and procedures of WSU Extension and specifically, 4-H programming under the direction of the Regional 4-H Specialist.
- Conduct outreach efforts currently serving over 400 youth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Educational background/training in animal sciences, livestock production or related area.
- Language and cultural competency in Spanish.
- Demonstrated experience in mediation services.
- Demonstrated experience in managing volunteers.
