Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
- Previous experience with curriculum program evaluation tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication and organizational skills required.
- Experience in evaluating and translating research and complex issues for a general audience, especially labor union leaders and members.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of diverse audiences.
- Ability to prepare presentations, create slides, and craft documents for educational programs and trainings.
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary teams, providing creative and critical independent thinking while also considering diverse opinions and approaches.
- Must be able to manage multiple competing deadlines and be flexible with changing work priorities.
- Ability to plan ahead and anticipate potential issues, strong ability for multi-tasking.
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone and public presentation skills.
- Experience that demonstrates sound judgement, creativity, management and problem-solving skills, and ability to work well within a team of professionals.
- Must be a self-motivated service-minded individual that demonstrates accountability in all work responsibilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to change program objectives as needed.
- Capable of working independently for long stretches of time with limited supervision.

- Experience or internship working with unions, labor boards, or academic labor programs.
- Experience or internship working with environmental, climate justice or clean energy organizations.
- Experience with internet and library searches.
- Familiarity with many of the following areas including labor unions, especially building trade and energy sector unions, worker organizing and collective bargaining contracts, climate organizations, climate justice, climate protection and clean energy policy, renewable energy and other low-carbon economic sectors, low-wage precarious work and inequality, and union and worker training programs.
- Experience and skill using and learning different software packages and web-based tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Zoom or videoconferencing software, Lexis Nexis, library databases, and Qualtrics).
- Experience with online educational engagement tools like Zoom, Polls Everywhere.
Responsibilities
- Support CJI’s training and education programs and activities.
- Contribute to the development, design and delivery of training program curriculum.
- Provide both off-site and on-site technical assistance.
- Assist with training and outreach opportunities related to project content areas.
- Provide technical and research assistance for CJI’s educational programs, including preparing briefings on labor, climate and equity issues, presentations and crafting materials for CJI trainings and educational convenings.
- Support CJI’s training and education team with collecting data, interpretation of data, and identifying and reviewing relevant emerging information including policy issues to stay informed of best practices in field.
- Present at, participate in, and attend educational convenings, trainings, conferences, workshops, and public events related to the Institute’s education programs.
- Work with undergraduate student fellows at the CJI.
- Edit grant and funding proposals and write media articles for the CJI and ILR communications related to training events and convenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social science or applied research, educational leadership, human resources, program evaluation, statistics, or related discipline.
- Prior experience working in climate change or policy communication.
- Three to four years of experience in training and education, and/or program evaluation environment.
- Knowledge of digital learning tools, web media, and use of web for technical assistance research and information dissemination.
- Ability to review, summarize, and interpret research results for practical application to workplace implementation.
- Experience working in a team environment, providing collaborative input, and contributing support to creative database projects.
- Extensive knowledge of the offshore wind industry including the manufacturing supply chain, emerging clean energy technologies, New York state public policy on climate and offshore wind, and labor standards for renewable and clean energy projects.
- Familiarity with reviewing and examining collective bargaining agreements.
- Capability to perform public policy research and understand the decision-making and law-making process of multiple states, federal, and international contexts.
- Experience in project or program management preferred.
- Knowledge of Canva and InDesign is preferred.
