Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities and/or construction project management
- Experience planning, designing, building, and maintaining large, complex facilities (Tech, manufacturing, labs, industrial)
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve service/efficiency and reduce cost/schedule through strategic design and/or procurement methods
- Strong financial management discipline including budgeting, tracking, and forecasting.
- Proficient in understanding management agreements, contract language, construction specifications and drawings.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, succinct manner.
- Excellent computer and systems knowledge, including MS Office suite, CAD, Bluebeam, etc.
Responsibilities
- Manage feasibility, planning, design, construction management for corporate facilities and properties.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather operational project requirements with an emphasis on workplace experience.
- Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, contractors and consultants for facilities and construction projects.
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects, from initial planning and design through to completion. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, financial forecasts, and expense tracking. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on all construction sites to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status, potential risks, and milestones.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction. Develop and implement solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building out new facilities in a startup/high-growth environment preferred.
- A passion for building something new.
