Requirements
- Experience teaching college or university courses
- Ability to work with groups and individuals to improve teaching and learning
- Experience working with or for a teaching center (or similar program); employment in a center is not required, but you do need to be familiar with what CTLs do
- Ability to adapt to different instructional contexts
- Excellent communicative, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
- Contributor who is proactive, diligent, and able to reflect on their practice
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a variety of faculty and academic units to develop and review learning activities, student feedback, and assessments
- Design and facilitate workshops, short courses, and other teaching and learning programming
- Conduct consultations with faculty, graduate students, and administrators
- Expand the Schreyer Institute’s outreach to Penn State faculty and administrators
- Develop materials and resources that encourage use of effective instruction and assessment practices
- Collaborate with Schreyer Institute faculty consultants to design and implement SITE offerings
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to contribute ideas and bring new perspectives to the work
- Experience working with faculty or graduate students to improve their teaching effectiveness
- Knowledge of issues faced by members of groups historically excluded from or underrepresented in higher education
- Ability to apply learning and faculty development literatures to create experiences and resources
