Requirements
- Doctoral degree in nursing or master’s in nursing
- Hold or be eligible for an active unencumbered nursing license in Texas
- A minimum of three years of experience as a full-time nursing faculty member
- Experience as a clinical staff member and/or leader
- Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes
- Documented education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-development programs, or completion of a certificate program in nursing education
Responsibilities
- Teach in the Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching
- Incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses
- Develop and deliver nursing education
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in medical-surgical, psychiatric mental health, and population health nursing
- Medical-surgical, psychiatric mental health, and/or population health nursing teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to innovation and excellence in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings
